The softball lights were last updated in the fall of 1978. The first team to play under
the new lights included Evy O Donnell Raes, Amber Masteller, Teri Kruger, Sheryl Shaeffer, Linda Locker, Sharon Finch,
Dana Anderson, Cindy Heintz, Vicki Marker, and Sarah Kruger. Does that make the lights seem old or young?
These
lights have seen:
♦ 1,269 varsity games, along with hundreds of JV, 9th, and junior high contests.
♦ 2 conference championships, in 1981 and 1985.
♦ 19 All State performers
♦
2 state tournament teams in 1977 and 1983
♦ 90 members of the .300 Hitters Club
♦ Sue Ann
Wheeler earn All State 4 times; Kari Tomlinson 3 times
♦ white limestone, drinking fountains in dugouts,
and green wooden bleachers
♦ uniforms with stars, Bomberettes, long white pants, pinstripes, and shorts
♦ senior nights, post game celebrations, the thrill of winning, the agony of defeat
It
is time to make these images a little brighter....
